Why a topic on Menopause?
May 13th, 2007, 6:57pm

The simple answer is that I am going through the process of menopause myself and finding it an extremely interesting time.

The eBook I am writing covers menopause so I am interested in other women's experience of this time of life, either via the forum if people don't mind, or via PM if privacy is preferred.

My particular approach is focussing more on the use of EFT and/or Reiki but I am looking forward to hearing what other approaches have worked, or not, as the case may be.

What really interests me is which of the symptoms get to you most and which ones do you feel are just a minor nuisance?

Any feedback would be gratefully received.

it'll be good to see how others manage this 'time of life',eeek!...i think,no,i know i'm starting the menopause now and have been 'in it' for the last year or so.My periods are now irregular, sometimes i miss a couple of months and then i get 2 periods in close succession...bit like waiting for a bus, none for hours and then 3 together  Grin

however, other than the irregularity,i'm not having any other symptoms yet,no hot flushes or mood swings..as yet anyway.I don't want to go on HRT i don't think but i don't want to shrink or develop a hump so,at the moment,i'm watching and waiting and using soy on a daily basis.
My diabetes isn't particularly affected as yet, neither is my weight which is normal but i'm 50 this year so maybe i'll develop more problems over time...hope not!!!

one thing i've noticed,if i exercise every day,my periods are regular,if i don't exercise,i tend to miss a period...so,in my study of  one...my conclusions are, exercise is good for keeping me regular  Cheesy

After 20 years of going through the menopause - (Istarted at the age of 40 - its a long story), I found accupuncture helped with the hot flushes.  1 treatment lasted about 6 months. Undecided Undecided

I think I'll stick to the EFT. I don't exactly like needles; fortunately I rarely have dental fillings which is just as well as I won't have an anaesthetic needle either. Must be a masochist  Shocked

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with an early menopause @ 38 and for a few years I tried various things as the symptoms I experienced were pretty awful (particularly night sweats...) The absolute best thing I have come across is a magnet which basically relieved most of my symptoms - I had loads more energy ( I had felt so tired all the time) no more night sweats and my skin looked a lot better (bonus!!) ..it's great and absolutely natural. The best thing of all is not having to see a doctor or take the dreaded HRT. It's called magnopulse and I couldn't recommend it more.... and I had tried pretty much everything from acupuncture, herbal medicine and even , at a stage whenI could stand it no longer,HRT.... I have also trained in Reiki which has helped immensely with the emotional and spiritual aspect and something I couldn't imagine living without.
Anyway I hope this helps someone because I know how long I looked for something to help me.
Love & Blessings
Eileen

Hello there, Eileen, and welcome.

I have given magnet therapy a go but during that time I had a worsening of my heart palpitations, which stopped when I stopped the magnet therapy. Coincidence or what, I really don't know. I use Reiki all the time, but have found EFT works best for me personally, exactly as and when I need it  Smiley.

I am of the opinion that everyone has a particular therapy or so that really suits them well, when others are not so good. It's a case of finding what works best for each individual  Wink .

What I like about both Reiki and EFT is that they are both remarkably self-empowering - they let you be in the driving seat, and neither seems to have any negative side-effects.

Kind Regards,

Hi!

I just want to share some information to you about a natural remedy for menopause problems.. I suggest to you the acai berry. Acai berry can help to alleviate menopausal symptoms by providing essential micronutrients to the body. It is also very useful to our health and it is very beneficial!  Wink
